Below, please find four updates on the CMS EHR Incentive Programs. First, CMS has announced a national provider call on how Eligible Professionals can register for the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program. Registration for the CMS EHR Incentive Programs officially opened on January 3rd and this call will specifically address providers participating in the Medicaid EHR Incentive Program, regardless of whether your particular state’s Incentive Program has launched. Second, CMS has launched a national listserv for the Medicare and Medicaid Electronic Health Record (EHR) Incentive Programs. This listserv will distribute messages nationally, while our regional listserv will continue to focus on messages from the Region 9 office of CMS, specific to providers in California, Hawaii, Arizona, Nevada and the territories. You can join the CMS national listserv at: www.cms.gov/EHRIncentivePrograms/65_CMS_EHR_Listserv.asp

Also, the Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) has released two new videos on their YouTube channel, one on the Beacon Community Program and a second featuring a message from Dr. David Blumenthal encouraging registration. Finally, ONC is still requesting participation by stakeholders interested in initiatives under its Standards and Interoperability (S&I) Framework Program to support the development of health care specifications in order to facilitate wider use of standards and an increased level of health IT interoperability across the nation. Information on all of this below.

Also, pay attention to this listserv in the coming weeks for information on CMS Region 9’s state-specific calls to educate and update providers on the Incentive Programs. And as an ongoing reminder, CMS’s official website for the Medicare and Medicaid EHR Incentive Programs is www.cms.gov/EHRIncentivePrograms/
